Co-pilot: Discrimination detection

Automatically detect and flag potentially discriminatory questions

A Company Admin user needs to activate Co-pilot in the Add-on feature center to get started.

Once activated, the Discrimination detection feature can be toggled on/off under Settings → Recruitment → Co-pilot → Interview preparation.

Discriminatory questions

When adding or editing questions in Teamtailor, Co-pilot helps identify questions that may be discriminatory by detecting references to sensitive personal characteristics, including:

  • Age

  • Citizenship

  • Color / Race

  • Disability

  • Ethnicity

  • Family Status

  • Gender Identity

  • Genetic Information

  • Marital Status

  • Nationality

  • Political Affiliation

  • Pregnancy

  • Religion

  • Sexual Orientation

  • Veteran Status

Once a question that may be considered discriminatory is created or updated under Settings → Recruitment → Questions, a small red May be discriminatory badge appears next to it. Hovering over the badge displays a tooltip explaining why the question may be considered discriminatory.

The badge simply serves as a visible reminder to review the wording, meaning it can still be saved. You can choose to keep the question as is or edit it to help ensure a fair and inclusive candidate experience.

Potentially discriminatory questions selected in the Application form section when editing a job will also display the badge. This helps highlight them before publishing the job.

The check is intended as a helping hand, not legal advice. Since local laws and regulations may vary, we recommend reviewing sensitive questions with your legal team.

When using our Multiple languages feature, Co-pilot reviews all added translations to help detect potentially discriminatory questions in any language.
