Setting internal goals for key recruitment KPIs empowers you to take control of your hiring process. With clear targets in place, you can track progress, spot opportunities to improve, and create a smoother experience for both your team and your candidates. This leads to smarter decisions and ultimately, more successful hires.

Set up goals

Under Settings → Analytics → Goals, you can define company-wide goals for key recruitment metrics. This helps you stay aligned across teams and continuously improve your hiring process.

Define your goals

You can set your goals in three ways:

  • Above – Set a target that the metric should be higher than (e.g., job ad conversion rate above 15%).

  • Between – Define a range that the metric should fall within (e.g., time to hire between 20–30 days).

  • Below – Set a maximum threshold the metric should stay under (e.g., time in inbox below 2 days).

Let’s take a look at the different metrics you can set goals for:

Metric

Description

Job ad conversion

This metric shows how well your job ad converts visitors into applicants.

Time in inbox

This metric shows the average number of days candidates stay in the inbox. It includes those who move forward, get rejected, or remain in that stage during the selected time period.

Moved forward from inbox

This metric shows the percentage of candidates in the Inbox who move to the next stage.

Time to hire

This metric tracks the average number of days from when a candidate enters the inbox until they’re hired.

Not sure where to start?
These KPIs give you valuable insights and help you stay aligned across teams as you work to improve your hiring process. In the setup, you’ll find our suggested metrics to help you get started—but these can of course be adjusted to better align with your own goals. Factors like your organization’s industry, team structure, and hiring volume can all influence which metrics matter most. That’s why we encourage you to collaborate with your internal HR or recruitment team to define what success looks like for you.

Your goals can easily be updated as you grow and learn what works best for your organization. Any changes made under Settings → Analytics → Goals will be reflected across the platform.

Track your goals

After you have set your goals, you will be able to see how well your recruitment processes measure up to them and where there is room for improvement.

Analytics

You can view your goals in relation to the KPIs directly in Analytics → Overview → KPIs & Job goals. Here, you can apply filters to identify areas for improvement, for example, within a specific department or location.

If a goal is not met, you can easily identify which jobs are performing outside the target. Click the three dots to access shortcuts for further actions.

If no goal has been set yet, you'll see the option + Add goal, which redirects you to Settings → Analytics → Goals.

Job comments

Each week, your hiring teams will receive a snapshot of their recruitment performance, compared to the previous week, directly in the Job comments section of each job. If goals have been set for these metrics under Settings → Analytics → Goals, the data will also be shown in relation to the targets.

This helps the team identify key focus areas and celebrate their progress. Read more about the Weekly Summary here.

Reach your goals

When a goal isn’t met, it’s time to take action. Use the Jobs outside goal section under Analytics → Overview → KPIs & Job goals to identify which jobs are performing below target.

Talk to your team, check the data reports, review the job setup, or consider excluding jobs that shouldn’t be included in the goal tracking. Click the three dots to access shortcuts for quick actions and next steps.
