Co-pilot: Resume parser

Automatically extract candidate details from uploaded resumes, including personal information, work history, education, skills, and traits

A Company Admin user needs to activate Co-pilot in the Add-on feature center to get started.

Once activated, the Resume parser is always enabled. You can find additional settings connected to it under Settings → Recruitment → Co-pilot → Additional tools → Resume parser.

When using our add-on feature Co-pilot, resume parsing is enhanced with additional candidate details extracted from the resume. It can identify and structure key details such as personal information, work history, education, skills, and traits, making candidate profiles more complete and easier to review.

Co-pilot will parse resumes for all candidates who apply, connect, or are manually sourced.

Extracted information

When Co-pilot parses a resume, it extracts relevant candidate information and adds it to the candidate's profile. This helps create a more complete profile and makes key information easier to find and review.

Personal information

Co-pilot extracts the following personal information from the resume:

  • Profile image

  • First / Last name

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Candidate address

  • LinkedIn profile

Skills and traits

Skills and traits that already exist in your account and are identified in the resume are automatically added as Candidate competencies. These will appear in the Skills and traits field when adding or editing a candidate.

Resume summary and timeline

For a more comprehensive overview of a candidate's background and experience, explore the Co-pilot feature Resume summaries.

Co-pilot uses the information from the resume to generate a summary of the candidate's background, along with a timeline of their work and education history.

Hidden instruction detection

Co-pilot can detect hidden text in resumes that may be intended to influence or manipulate its assessment of a candidate.

For example, hidden instructions may be concealed using white-on-white text, very small font sizes, or transparent text. When Co-pilot detects this type of content, a warning is displayed on the candidate profile. The warning shows:

  • The hidden instruction that was detected

  • How the instruction was concealed

  • Why the content was flagged

These warnings do not affect the candidate's score but simply give you visibility into potentially manipulated resume content so you can review the application yourself. Each detected warning is also recorded in your company's audit log, providing a record of when hidden instructions were detected.

Additional settings

Under Settings → Recruitment → Co-pilot → Additional tools → Resume parser, you can choose to toggle on/off the options Add matched skills and traits and Scan for hidden instructions.
