The Candidate chat is a great way to start talking to your candidates effortlessly and instantly. Make sure you're available for those dream candidates and don't risk losing them between your job ad and their application.

How does it work?
The Candidate chat is shown as a small circle widget at the bottom right corner of every page. You can also add a pop-up message accompanied by a gentle sound for the site visitor, to increase the chat's visibility.
General chat
The general chat for your career site will show up on all pages (you always have the option to deactivate it for specific job ads). This can be set up under Settings → Content / Career site → Candidate interaction. When setting the chat up, you see a helpful preview where you can make sure it looks great!
Job chat
You can activate the chat interaction for a specific job also. You can customize the message and contact person for this chat under the step Candidate interaction in the job editing mode.
Video presenter
You can also add a short video (up to 2 minutes) displayed in the specific job ad chat. This allows your team to introduce yourself and your team directly to the candidate in a personal way. Once the candidate clicks the video, they can start typing their question.
Click Upload file and select the video you would like to use from your computer. For the best result, let’s clarify the specifics of the video you can upload:
Use a video in portrait orientation with an aspect ratio of 9:16. We recommend 1080x1920 pixels, but we will try to make it work if you use another dimension.
Keep it below 2 minutes, and don’t exceed 200mb in file size.
The supported formats of your video are: mp4, webm, flv, mov, quicktime, ogv, 3gp, 3g2, wmv, mpeg, avi.
Page chat
If you have created a custom page in Content you will also be able to enable this feature. Head over to the page settings and the Candidate interaction section:
Notifications
When the visitor responds to your chat, you will be notified via email if you have activated the notification New messages from leads. The message will also be displayed under Messages which you can access in the top right corner of your Teamtailor dashboard.
The notifications are as follows:
A candidate writes in the chat on your career site: All admins will be notified
A candidate writes in a specific job ad: The sender of the message + the hiring team will be notified.
When a visitor has written in the chat, a candidate profile will be created in your candidate bank as a Lead. Communicate with your lead by clicking a notification or opening the conversation in your Messages inbox or on the candidate card.
As long as the visitor is online (meaning they have kept the chat open from their end) you can reply to them even if they have not left their email address.
If you miss the conversation, don't worry - the chat operator automatically asks the visitor to leave their email so you can get back to them in your own time.
If the visitor has left the page without leaving an email address, your reply to them will not be delivered. If your message can't be delivered, it will be indicated in the Messages tab.
If the visitor reopens the same tab again, the message will be delivered to them.
