Set up email campaigns with Nurture

Build stronger candidate relationships by sending targeted and relevant communication

Updated this week

In a candidate-driven market, strong relationships are key to successful hiring. Build and nurture your talent pipeline to secure great candidates for future recruitment with our Nurture feature.

Candidate nurture campaigns are a great addition to your recruitment process. This process is designed to attract, engage, and convert passive candidates! And of course, we make this a smooth experience for both you and your candidates.

A Nurture campaign consists of Email touchpoints and Wait time in between the emails, and can be activated for specific candidate segments.

A Company Admin user needs to activate this feature in the Add-on feature center to get started

Set up Nurture

Once activated, the Company & Recruitment Admins in your account will see the tab called Nurture in the top navigation. This is where you can see your campaigns and create new ones.

Create a new campaign

To create a new campaign, click + Add nurture campaign

The Campaign builder consists of Email touchpoints and Wait time in between the emails, and you can completely tailor the campaign for specific candidate segments.

Email touchpoint

An email touchpoint is the point of contact with the candidate and consists of an outbound email in the campaign. Click ➕ Add touchpoint to add an email to your campaign. Set the subject, sender (any user in your system), send time*, and email body.

*All emails will be sent in the company's time zone set under Settings General → Timezone.

Email type

Choose if you want to send the email as plain text or a branded email. The plain text email is sent without any formatting, and the branded option includes your logo and the Main color option in your design settings.

Here you can see the difference between these emails:

Plain

Branded

Wait time

For each new touchpoint, you add the wait time between the emails, which can be set from 1 to 100 days. The default is 1 day.

Campaign exit

The campaign ends once all emails have been sent, but your candidates can exit sooner. Decide how your candidates should exit your campaign by adding Campaign exit options. Candidates always have the option to unsubscribe from your campaigns.

The exit options are:

  • When a candidate applies for a job: If a candidate submits a job application, they are removed from your campaign.

  • When a candidate replies to any of the campaign messages: When the candidate replies to any of the email touchpoints, they are removed from the campaign.

  • When a candidate connects with your company: If any of the candidates in the campaign connects with you, they are removed from the campaign.

Once you have set up your campaign, you will have the following options:

  • Test this campaign: Add users as recipients to test your campaign before saving it. All email touchpoints will be sent out immediately, without any wait time.
Please note that the placeholders won’t be populated when testing the campaign.

  • Save as Draft: Save the campaign as a draft, allowing you to make changes while working on it.

  • Save campaign: When the campaign is complete, you can save it. After you've saved your campaign, you're not able to add new email touchpoints or wait time, so make sure you're all set before saving.

Once you have saved your campaign, it's automatically set as active, and you can now add candidates to it.

Add recipients to your campaign

Time to add your recipients! Once a candidate has been added to an active campaign, the first email touchpoint will be sent according to the send time.

You can add candidates to your campaign in the following ways:

Add a candidate

Add a candidate as a recipient directly through the candidate card. In the action bar under More, choose Add to nurture campaign and select the campaign in question here.

Bulk add candidates

To add several candidates at once, use Bulk select in your candidate bank or job process. Select the candidates you wish to include, click the three dots in the action bar, and then Add to nurture campaign. Choose the campaign you want to add them to in the drop-down list.

Use your candidate segments to save time.

Add automatically using a trigger

Set up a trigger to automatically add candidates to a campaign at a certain stage in your job process. While in the job pipeline, hover over the stage in question and click the three dots. Choose Triggers and the option Add to nurture campaign, and select which campaign should be used.
