Reviews help you quickly assess how well candidates align with your company and hiring needs.

There are two types of reviews, each serving a different purpose:

  • Candidate review (orange stars): An assessment of how well the candidate fits your company overall.

  • Job application review (yellow stars): An assessment of how well the candidate suits a specific job process and the quality of their application.

Both candidate and job application reviews can be found under the Comments tab on the candidate card. Use the toggle under filters to find all reviews easily.

Let's take a closer look!

Candidate reviews

Adding a candidate review helps you assess how well they fit your company on a more general level. This is especially useful if the candidate hasn’t applied for a specific role yet, providing a solid foundation for future opportunities.

Candidate card

Candidate reviews are added on the candidate card, under the Comments tab. When adding a new comment, you can create a review by clicking the star icon.

You’ll be able to rate the candidate using stars to indicate how well they fit the company. You also have the option to leave a comment explaining your rating, which is especially helpful for other users viewing the review.

Make sure the candidate icon is toggled on to ensure it is added as a candidate review.

All submitted reviews will be logged under Activity and available under the Comments tab on the candidate card.

If a candidate receives several candidate ratings from different users, the overall rating is also summarized underneath the candidate's name. In this example, you see the average of one 5-star rating and one 4-star candidate rating.

If no candidate review has been added yet, you’ll see the option to add one directly below the candidate’s name (if no job application is selected).

Note! The review comment will pre-select the context based on how you’re viewing the candidate. In the example above, the candidate has no job application yet, so the review will be saved as a candidate review.

The star ratings of the candidate reviews can also be found under the Candidates tab if Candidate rating is toggled on in the column settings.

Under filters, you will find the option to filter on candidates with a certain rating and rated by you or other users.

Settings

Each rating used for candidate reviews has a default description. Define what the stars should represent under Settings → Recruitment → Ratings.

Job application reviews

The Reviews feature can also serve as a helpful screening tool in the initial phase of the hiring process. By adding a job application review, you enable your team to assess which job applications best meet the requirements.

Candidate card

Under the Comments tab on the candidate card, you can add job application reviews. First, make sure the correct job is selected on the left, and that the job icon is toggled on in the comment section to ensure the review is added in the right context.

Rate the candidate’s job application using stars to reflect quality and fit within the job process. You can also add a comment to support your rating, which helps other hiring team members reviewing the application.

Make sure the job icon is toggled on to ensure it is added as a job application review.

All submitted reviews will be logged under Activity and available under the Comments tab on the candidate card.

If a candidate receives several job application ratings from different users, the overall rating is summarized underneath the candidate's name. In this example, you see the average of one 5-star rating and two 4-star job application ratings.

If the candidate is added to a job but doesn't have a job application review yet, you'll see the option to add one directly below the candidate’s name.

Note! The review comment will pre-select the context based on how you’re viewing the candidate. In the example above, the review will be added as a job application review for the Account Executive role.

The star ratings of the job application reviews are available under the Candidates tab as well. To access this data, you first need to filter on a job(s), and then you will find the option to toggle on Application rating in the column settings.

Job process

In the job stages view, the job application rating is displayed on the preview of the candidate card and can be added as a filter.
