Getting started
To enable the integration between Sympa and Teamtailor, you have to activate it from our Marketplace page. Head over to Marketplace→Sympa and click Activate. You will be asked to fill in a Sympa API username and a Sympa API password. These credentials can be obtained by Sympa - so reach out to your contact person or the support-team at Sympa, and add them to the configuration of the integration in Teamtailor. Once you have added the credentials, click on "Finish installation" to activate the integration on your account.
Important
In order for the integration to work, the Sympa <> Teamtailor Connector must be activated by Sympa. For more information, please check out this link:

Set up the workflow in Teamtailor
The candidate is automatically sent to the Sympa via a Trigger you add to a stage in the recruitment process.
To add the Trigger, go to the stage where you want the event to happen. There, click the magic wand at the right hand side, Triggers (1) and add it to the stage you want by clicking the Add trigger (2).

Manually send the candidate
You will also have the option of manually sending the candidate to Sympa. This might be especially useful if you would like to set a specific date of start. To do so, go into the candidate page, click three dots on top, then go to the integrations panel and choose Sympa.
Sympa workflow - custom fields
When the integration is triggered we will send the name, phone, email, location, and every custom field that has value. Please note that you will have to create a column in Sympa that corresponds with the custom field name. Read more about custom fields here.
The column in Sympa needs to be the same as 'Field API name'. So in this case the field name is Favourite number, but the Field API name is 'favourite-number'.
You can find a custom field in the candidate view. If it is empty, or there is no corresponding column name in Sympa, the field won't be transferred.
Sympa workflow - questions
Within Teamtailor you can set-up questions to ask to candidates. These questions and answers show on the candidate card.
Using this integration, besides (custom) fields, you can also transfer the candidate's answers to Sympa. For example by asking the question 'What is your favourite number?' the answer can be transferred to the 'favourite-number' field in Sympa.
It's important to precisely plan the mapping of the questions in Teamtailor to the fields in Sympa.
You need to create the fields in Sympa. Names of Sympa fields must be either one word or words divided by “-”, for example 'favourite-number'.
The Sympa field name must occur in the Teamtailor question to map it. If favourite-number needs to be mapped, the question in Teamtailor should include the text 'favourite number'.
There shouldn't be multiple questions using the same key words, otherwise the data might be transferred to the wrong fields.
The data transferred via questions can be overwritten by creating custom fields.
