Learn how to automatically send candidates a Crosschq reference check

By activating the Crosschq integration, you'll be able to add triggers that automatically send candidates a Crosschq reference check.

Crosschq offers a talent analytics platform designed to help companies improve quality of hire through data-driven insights. A key component is their 360 reference survey which provides robust data on candidates beyond resumes.

With the Teamtailor x Crosschq integration you can fully automate your reference checking!

Getting started in Teamtailor

To enable the integration between Crosschq and Teamtailor, you connect your existing Crosschq account to Teamtailor through our Marketplace page.

First things first: you will need to collect your Crosschq API key. This API key is used to connect the two systems. In Crosschq go to Organization Settings > Connectors > Teamtailor, select the toggle to enable the connector, and copy the Partner API Key using the copy button.

Once you have the Crosschq API key you can head over to the marketplace in the Teamtailor application, search for Crosschq, and click Activate.

You will be redirected to the activations page in your settings where you can add your Crosschq integration key, and click 'finish installation'.

Step 2. Add your Crosschq API key

Set up the trigger in Teamtailor

Now the integration is activated you can head over to one of your jobs in Teamtailor. From the applications view, you should click on the Triggers symbol (1).

Select the stage from which you want the transfer to trigger by clicking the ➕ (2) in that stage. Candidates that are moved to this stage will be automatically send an invite email for the reference check.

Select Send Crosschq reference check to add the trigger.

The integration will prompt you to set the 'Job position' and 'Job role'. When you’re done with the trigger setup, click Add Trigger.

When the trigger is activated by moving a candidate into the stage, the candidate will automatically receive an email invite for the Crosschq reference check.

Note: for the integration trigger to work, there are four standard fields that are required to be filled on the candidate card.

  • First name

  • Last name

  • (Mobile) phone

  • Email address

After triggering the integration you will directly find the status of the reference check on the candidate card in Teamtailor. From the candidate card you can at all times open the status page in Crosschq using the 'Generated report' button.

The new candidate is also directly available in your Request Management dashboard in Crosschq. Here you can track the status of the reference check and results.

Note: With Crosschq you usually request a self-reference and normal references from a candidate. Crosschq also allows you to request just the self-reference, or just the general references. If you only use general references, Teamtailor automatically marks the 'self-reference' part on the candidate card as completed, even if this part has not actually been requested from the candidate.

What data is transferred?

Once the Crosschq integration is triggered the following information will be transferred:

  • Candidate data:

    • First name

    • Last name

    • Mobile phone

    • Email address

    • Results (from Crosschq to Teamtailor)

  • Recruiter data:

    • Email address

    • Full name
