Teamtailor makes the referral process easy by allowing you to refer candidates directly from the Employee dashboard. This helps you to recommend candidates and keep them all in one place.
Employee dashboard
To get started, head to the Employee dashboard, available through your profile picture in the top-right corner. In this article, we’ll focus on Open jobs and My referrals, found on the page.
Open jobs
The Open jobs section displays all currently published roles at your company. If you know someone who would be a good fit, simply hover over the job card and click Refer a candidate to submit a referral.
My referrals
In the My referrals widget, you can see the referrals you have added as well as add a new one.
Referral status
To help keep track of the status of the referrals, you will see one of the following statuses displayed next to it:
Inbox: The candidate is added to the Inbox stage of the job
In process: The candidate is in one of the stages between the Inbox and Hired for the job
Hired: The candidate has been moved to the Hired stage in the job
Rejected: The candidate is no longer being considered for the job
Not in any process: The candidate is added to the candidate bank, but not yet added to a job
Create a referral
When referring a candidate, you provide relevant information to help introduce them internally and explain why you recommend them. You will be able to attach a resume and fill out the following information:
Name
Email
Phone
LinkedIn profile
What else can you tell us?
Provide details about the referral and why they would make a good fit for the company
Referral type
If there’s a published role that the candidate would be a good fit for, you can select that job when submitting the referral. If you started the referral from a job card on the Employee dashboard, the job will already be pre-selected.
You can also make a general referral without choosing a specific job. This is a great option if you have a strong candidate in your network but can’t find a suitable role published at the moment.
For job referrals, you can only select locations specified in the job, whereas for general referrals, all company locations are available. If available, you can select multiple locations just like a candidate can in an application form or via their Connect dashboard.
You can only refer a candidate to one job at a time. If you think a candidate could be a good fit for multiple roles, we recommend checking directly with your internal recruiters.
Manage referred candidates
Candidates referred to a specific job will appear in the Inbox stage as a sourced application. You will see that the candidate has the status Referred added on the candidate card.
You can also filter on referred candidates directly in the job process.
On the candidate card, you will see all the information written by the user who added the referral under the Employee Referrals section.
If you want to see all referred candidates in your account, head over to your candidate bank under Candidates and click + Add filter. Choose Referred under the filter Candidate status to display all referred candidates.
Notifications
To ensure referrals are highlighted internally, each user can enable a notification for new referrals.
Company and Recruitment Admins will be notified when referrals are added without a job.
The main recruiter and the hiring team will be notified when referrals are added with a selected job.
The email notification will contain the referral message and a link to the candidate card in Teamtailor.
