Hi, welcome to Teamtailor! We’re really happy to have you!
In this article, we’ve compiled the things we think would be great for you to know when you work with Teamtailor with the access level Hiring Manager.
As a Hiring Manager, we believe you have three main reasons to log into your Teamtailor platform:
Help your company find the right people via the Employee dashboard
Collaborate with a hiring team on a recruitment process
Create and edit jobs
Employee Dashboard
Let's start by taking a look at the Employee dashboard. This is the place for you and your colleagues to view ongoing recruitments, and work together to find your next colleague.
Here, you can do the following:
See and apply for both internal and external job openings
Share job openings to your network (and see your sharing stats)
Refer people to open jobs (and follow the progress of your referrals)
A more in depth overview of what you can do can be found here.
Collaborate with a hiring team
You as a hiring manager can be invited to join a recruitment process as part of a hiring team. You can access the jobs you have been invited to by clicking the Jobs tab in the top left corner of the platform.
From here, you can see an overview of all the jobs you have been invited to collaborate on, and click the individual jobs to gain a deeper insight into that recruitment process.
Once you click on a specific job, you can see all candidates that have applied or been added to a job in their specific stages of the process, and focus on the candidates that need your attention.
Manage a candidate
Now that we are in the job, we can take a look at how to manage the candidates in the role. When a candidate applies to a job opening, they are added to the job process in the inbox stage.
To review a candidate, click their name, and it will open their candidate card.
In the candidate card, you can manage everything related to the specific candidate, such as comments, to-dos, interviews, and messages. You can also review the information the candidate has submitted in the left-hand pane. This is where you can collaborate with the rest of the hiring team and communicate with the candidate.
For your convenience, you can find some articles here with good-to-know info on how to manage a candidate:
Collaborate using Job comments
Make the collaboration in the process even easier by making yourself familiar with the Job comments section. This is where you and the other hiring team members can discuss the process in one place. You find this option at the top right in the process, and you can learn the details of this feature here.
Bulk features
Teamtailor's bulk features allow you to work more efficiently within your job process. This option allows you to manage several candidates at once, including messaging several candidates at once, moving them to another stage in the process, assigning a to-do, etc.
To utilize the bulk feature, click Bulk select in the top-right, mark the candidates you wish to manage, and use the action in the menu that appears at the bottom of the screen.
Access your candidate bank
If you have been added to a Group (a great and seamless way for your admin users to grant you access to the right segment of candidates, disregarding the candidate’s submitted application) you will see the additional Candidates tab in your main menu.
Here you see your candidate bank, which contains all the candidates you have access to. This section provides a great overview of potential candidates that can be sourced to jobs.

Manage jobs
The hiring manager access level has the option to create new jobs, but not to publish.
Create a job
As a hiring manager, you are able to create new jobs in Teamtailor. To create a job, go to the Jobs tab and click the pink + button.
You will then be able to add an internal title for the job, and select a template for the job creation to be based on.
Job awaiting approval
Once you have filled in the details of your job, you will be able to click the pink Ready to publish button at the bottom of the job creation screen.
Once you click ready to publish, the job status will change to 'pending' and a recruitment lead or administrator will be able to publish the job on your behalf.
If your platform has requisition flows, you will be able to create requisitions to be approved. Read more here.
Edit existing jobs
As a hiring manager, you are also able to edit existing jobs to update information.
To edit an existing job, you can go to the Jobs tab, and hover over the job you would like to edit. You can then click the pencil icon to edit the job.
You can also edit the job from within the job process. To do so, click the three dots at the top right-hand corner and choose Edit job.
Once you have made the necessary edits, don't forget to click save!
Your account settings
To make sure you get the most out of your Teamtailor user, we recommend you take a look at your settings. Our suggestion is that you look into the following:
Set up your public profile so your potential future coworkers can get to know you
Review your notification settings
Connect your calendar to make the candidate meeting process super smooth.
