Sometimes companies receive spam or fraudulent applications for their jobs. In Teamtailor, you can set up rules to automatically identify and manage them.
With spam filter rules, applications that match specific domains or email addresses can either be marked as spam to be reviewed in the platform or automatically disregarded along with any incoming messages.
Please note that this feature is not intended to block candidates based on previously rejected job applications or for discriminatory purposes. It should only help identify and manage spam or fraudulent applications.
Set up rules
Company Admins can set up the rules under Settings → Security → Spam filter rules.
Click + Add rule to create a new rule for an email domain or a specific email address. Then choose whether the rule should mark matching applications as spam or block their applications and messages from appearing in Teamtailor.
Spam applications
Applications that match domains or email addresses marked as spam are automatically flagged in the platform for you to review. These applications will appear in your job process before the Inbox stage.
To help you assess these spam applications, a few details will be displayed, such as the email address, phone number, and application date.
To hide the spam applications stage, click the Spam applications button on the right-hand side of the job process.
A set of default rules is added based on email domains and email addresses historically identified as spam in Teamtailor. These rules can be edited if needed.
Blocked applications
Applications that match domains or email addresses set as blocked are automatically discarded, along with any incoming messages from the applicant.
From the applicant's point of view, they will still be able to apply and send messages as normal, but their application and messages will not appear in Teamtailor.
