Deciding to recruit internally can be a smart move for many reasons. Offering opportunities for growth within your company helps build loyalty, boost engagement, and create a happier team. Not to mention faster onboarding and reduced hiring costs!
If you're recruiting within your company and want to target certain job ads only to your employees, our Internal recruitment feature is perfect.
It allows you to post job ads that are visible exclusively to your internal colleagues, keeping them separate from external candidates. You’ll also be able to access valuable insights through your Analytics, helping you track and improve your internal recruitment efforts.
A Company Admin user needs to activate this feature in the Add-on feature center to get started
Internal jobs
A job posted as internal will not be published externally on your career site or job boards. Instead, it will be accessible only to your employees. Other than this, the recruitment process will work the same as any other job in Teamtailor.
Make a job internal
A job can be marked as internal in the job editing mode. Simply click the house icon in the bottom menu before publishing the job ad.
You can go back and make the job public and publish it on your career site at any time during the recruiting process.
An internal job will have an Internal tag added next to its job title to clearly distinguish it from your public jobs, both in the Jobs overview and process view.
Visibility
As mentioned in the very beginning, internal jobs will not be displayed on your career site. Instead, these are accessible to your colleagues in the following places:
Employee dashboard
On the Employee dashboard, your employees can see and apply for all published jobs, both external and internal. By hovering over an internal job, they will be able to refer a candidate they recommend or simply click the job to apply themselves.
Teamtailor dashboard
An Internal jobs widget can be added to display the published internal job ads for employees with access to the Teamtailor dashboard.
Job list widget
Another way to display the internal jobs is by creating a Job list widget. This is a list of jobs that you can integrate, for example, on your internal websites for your employees to find. In this widget, you can choose to show internal and/or external jobs.
Notification
Once an internal job is published, a notification will be sent to all employees added in Teamtailor with the notification New job is published enabled.
Internal candidates
Internal colleagues applying will be marked as internal on their candidate cards, which can be used as a filter both in a job process and in the candidate bank.
Job application access
When a candidate applies for an internal job, any other job applications that non-admin users don't have access to will be hidden on the candidate card for them.
This ensures that employees can explore other job opportunities discreetly, as this information can be sensitive.
Mark candidate as internal
A candidate will be marked as internal in the following ways:
If the application is submitted with an email using the company email domain (Added under Settings → Company → Auto join).
If the application is submitted via your Employee dashboard.
If automatically marked as internal through a Mark candidate as internal trigger setup in a job.
If manually marked as internal under Statuses in the editing mode of the candidate card.
Analytics
You can easily filter on data related to your internal jobs in the premade reports by using the job filter Internal.
Custom snapshot reports
In the Job report templates, you will find Internal as both a data point and a filter, allowing you to indicate whether a job is internal and to filter on them.
In the Candidate and Job application report templates, Internal candidate is also available as both a data point and a filter, enabling you to identify internal candidates in your reports.
Custom historic reports
For historic reports, you will find the job filter Internal and job application filter Internal job application.
You will be able to add the following data points:
Internal status of applications (count): to identify the number of internal applications.
Internal job: to identify the number of internal jobs.
