Create a job

Start a new recruitment by setting up the foundation for your recruitment process and job ad

We're currently rolling out improvements to the job creation setup. As the update is being introduced gradually, your experience may differ from what's described in this article.

To learn more about the new job creation flow, see this article. If you have any questions or need help, please contact our Support team.

To start a new recruitment in Teamtailor, you'll first need to create a job. The job acts as the foundation of your recruitment, where you'll build your recruitment process, create your job ad, manage applicants, and collaborate with your hiring team.

Create a job

To get started, head over to the Jobs tab and click the pink + button. You will now be asked to fill out the general information tied to the recruitment process. This can be edited later on if needed.

If you want to reuse a job and its content for a new one, we’ve got you covered.

Hover over the job you want to copy in the Jobs list and click the Duplicate icon. Your new job will then be pre-filled with the information from the original, ready for you to edit.

Job details

The first section focuses on some core details tied to the job.

Field

Description

Title and symbol

Add a name for the job. Next to the title, you can also add a job symbol for further internal customization.

Department / Role

Assign the job to the related Department and Role to help clarify the position.

This will also make it easier for candidates to find and identify with the position. By configuring these settings, Connected candidates can create more relevant profiles, helping you maintain a higher-quality candidate bank.

Locations

Let the candidates know where the position is located by adding the Location/s of the job.

Template

Select a template that will be used as the base for your job. Learn more about job templates here

Note: Selecting a template will only pre-fill fields that are not already filled out manually.

Tags

Tags can be added to your jobs to help you categorize them internally. This makes it easier to quickly find or group together similar roles.

Hiring plan details

Next, it's time to define your hiring plan. This plan is displayed in the Hiring plan view, giving you and your team a shared overview of which roles need to be filled, helping you align on recruitment goals, and track progress throughout the hiring process.

Field

Description

Recruiter

The creator of the job will automatically be added as the main recruiter in this field.

If you have Company Admin or Recruitment Admin role access, you will have the additional option to select a different recruiter for the role.

Open positions

Once the number of hired candidates reaches the set value, the job status changes to Completed.

After that, no additional candidates can be moved to the Hired stage unless the number of open positions is updated in the job.

Time frame

The dates selected in these fields will be displayed in the Hiring plan to track hiring progress.

Additional details

Finally, you can select additional information using standard and custom job fields to provide more context and categorize the position. Later, when you create the job ad, these fields can also be included externally, giving candidates additional information about the role.

Approval flow

If your company is using our add-on feature Job approvals, you will see the approval flow applied to the job here. You can read more about this here.

Next step

Once the job has been created, you'll be presented with four options:

Job ad

Configure the job ad and application form to build the candidate experience for your recruitment.

Hiring process

Set up the recruitment process to define how candidates should move through the hiring process.

Hiring team

Define the hiring team responsible for managing the recruitment process and collaborating on the job.

Add candidates

Start sourcing candidates for the job or add them from your existing candidate bank.
